The attainment of maximum social welfare is first and foremost duty of the Govt for which govt levies money through different types of taxes such as direct taxes from individuals and institutions and indirect taxes a burden shifted to consumers. Many types of taxes like Income Tax, Sales Tax, Entertainment Tax, Property Tax, xport/ Import Tax, Entry Tax, Customes Duties, Cess, are major revenue of our nation.
Simple economics defines taxes as an essential component of financial planning. Thus doubtlessly taxes facilitate the State to provide its people all the basic necessities. Taxes are a source of revenue receipt for the State and if the expenditure is planned in a systematic manner, if not all, some of the prioritized basic needs can be met and service oriented infrastructure can be developed.
We should be aware that, any purchase we make, we are indirectly paying a major part the amount as tax. Billions of rupees are being collected in the shape of various type of taxes from the public by the Govt. Natural disasters like earthquake, floods etc also cause disruption in lives of the people and they need immediate financial assistance and statuary emergency services which will be funded by the Govt. Development of the nation depicts economic prosperity in every growing circle of various nature. Many developed and affluent countries have invested or are investing their huge part of revenue to improve the standard of life of their people. Many businessmen evade tax which impacts on our national economic stability. Corruption in Govt sector also encourages these people to evade taxes.
"Taxes" are a great independent faculty to be studied and researched to meet the necessities of a nation. A common feeling amongst people is a search for how best to avoid taxes. This is most dangerous. Avoiding paying taxes is a betrayal. The people should, therefore, be tuned to pay taxes as a duty towards nation. This deserves itself education. Whoever is that rich to pay should pay very willingly but taxation is full of pleaders who find loopholes to evade tax. Civilization is expressed in the happiness of a nation built through taxes.
