The owner of the world's Biggest Basket shape building Dave Longaberger who founded the company, choose a simple business to do the hand-woven gift basket., was the business visionary was a visionary and realized the huge opportunity to make picnic baskets and shopping baskets. And his ideas brought him fortune. who not only tapped into the demand for hand-woven party baskets, So, as a thank to the apparently innocent and unimportant item, he decided to move his company headquarters into this unusually shaped building from the world's largest replica of one. It is truly impressive example of Mimetic Architecture, grandest monument to the highest pinnacle of achievement by an advanced consumer culture.
The basket is a replica -- 160 times larger -- of Longaberger's Medium Market Basket. It's 192 ft. long by 126 ft. wide at the bottom, spreading to 208-ft. long by 142-ft. wide at the roof line. The US $30 million steel-stucco structure & a 180,000-ft 2 replica of one of the company's trademark handwoven baskets & rises more than seven stories and is crowned by two massive handles.
The design is perfect and accurate and all the details are preserved. For example the building has two handles attached, just like any normal picnic basket. It is an accurate replica of a normal shopping basket and is now one of the main touristic attractions of the town. These handles are constantly heated during the winter months so as to avoid ice and snow deposits on them.
