How Animal Spend Winter, How animal prevent himself from cold

You have so many ways to avoid cold, but what about the animals - birds, Crabs, How animal spend winter? How animal prevent himself from cold in winter? Have you ever thought it? No need to put more pressure on the brain. Animals - birds defend themselves in the cold bye certain ways like "Migration", "Hibernation". These are natural methods, accepted by itself with the changing weather.

"Migration":In winter season migrant bird of the other countries make their home at shore of lake and river birds and when cold wheather is ended they start returning to their Home place. Some birds travel a long way from one continent to another continent. Some species like Mammals, bat, whale, etc. get to those places where the weather is hot, when winter started. Thus, to go from one location to another location, to prevent from cold is called the "migration".

"Hibernation": In winter to avoid cold weather many animals underground or live in caves inactively for a long time, it is s a time when animals ‘sleep’ through cold weather. The animals conserve energy, especially during winter when food is short, tapping energy reserves, body fat, at a slow rate by this process. This particular process is called "Hibernation".

In fact, in winter days certain changes happened in the body of Animals. Their body temperature falls, breathing becomes slow. Their physical energy is reduces. That's why these animals eats a large amount of food and store energy in fat deposits, in order to survive the winter. The animals get their winter nests, dens and burrows ready and collect additional meals to consume in winter season, before winter begins. If we talk about bears, in normal its heart beat is 40-50 beat per minute , which fell to 8-12 per minute during Hibernation in winter season. During this time bear can survive, without eating for six months. Although bears do not go into "true hibernation".

However, there are some cold blooded animal for which it is hard to keep their body warm.Cold-blooded hibernators will wake up when the air outside warms or cools enough for them to be comfortable. Some cold-blooded hibernators are: Bees, Earthworms, Frogs and toads, Lizards, Mud Turtles, Snails, Snakes.Snake or Reptail group species go for hibernating in holes(dens) to avoid winter and wait for a change of weather. Animals such as turtle and frog dig holes or find cracks in logs or rock areas.

Warm-blooded hibernators do not sleep straight through the winter. Some of these hibernators also store food in their caves and burrows. They wake up once in awhile, walk around a little, and eat before they go back to sleep. Some warm-blooded hibernators are: Badgers, Hedgehogs, Bats, Nighthawks, Chipmunks, Poor-Wills, Dormouse, Prairie Dogs, Fat-tailed lemurs, Raccoon, Ground squirrels, Skunks, Hamsters, Swifts, Marmots, Groundhogs, Woodchucks, And bears. The animal has to have enough food stored to last the winter. Many animals die because they can't get enough food stored. It means they find the ways and take the effective measures to survive in the adverse weather.
