The institutions providing journalism courses should also have to understand the needs of the media industry, so then they can prepare the journalist those meet the demand of today's era. For this there should be regular interaction between Institute's and the media industry. High Level media institutions not only gave chances of regular interaction with industry, but as most of faculty are the same people who are connected from print or electronic media. So you can also get practical training with theory.
Its a unfortunate fact that in Most of the universities in Hindi-speaking areas today journalism education neither have infrastructure nor a suitable faculty. Hindi belt media courses students , should continue to update themselves. Even today, journalism is not the first priority for talented and sharp minded Student. The person who can not be selected anywhere ie. Engineering, medical, IAS, PCS, etc. , comes in this field. Only the young persons having dream of making a career in journalism started for looking good institute where they can get appropriate course immediately after XII examination
To become a successful journalist in addition to media-related courses any young must have three basic properties - That quality of Reporting means extracting of news, Desk means making the news special and attractive, and Networking means make your eyes - and ears open in order to identify potential reports and that you can catch. These properties are necessary for all three print, electronic and web media .
If you are interest in the reporting then you should know how to extort information itself, otherwise you can not make the news.So if someone reports within the news sense and understand the quality of information and can extort information, can become a good reporter.
If anyone wants to work at the desk he/she should should have good command on the respective language . It's Maybe possible that the reporter's language is not that sound, but it must be breaking news or exclusive news. So it depends on the copy editor that he made the news so impressive to finds. He/she should be adept in the art of explaining compounded and complicated one in to simple language and it can be possible with regular study and writing practice.

ReplyDeleteThere are a number of other topics that you would need, depending what area of "News Reporting" you wish to specialise in -- Police Rounds, Court Reporting, General reporting, Finance, Local government, State government, Federal government, Aviation, Fashion, Music, etc.
ReplyDeletePolice Rounds and Court Reporting would require you to have some legal training.
Local, State and Federal politics would mean you would need politics, history, economics.
Economics reporter would need a good understanding of finance and economics.
Working as a Foreign correspondent for a wire service would mean you would need at least one second language (of the country/region you were to cover) plus history of that area along with politics and some economics.
Some of the material you can pick up as you work, but it is always best if you have the ability prior to entering the "specialisation".
