On May 25, 2009, the 4-year-old daughter of boxer Mike Tyson died at a hospital Tuesday, a day her neck apparently got caught in a treadmill cord at her Phoenix home.

Mike Tyson’s daughter Exodus Tyson, 4 years of age, was found by her 7-year-old brother. She was found nearby the machine by her brother, Miguel Tyson, unconscious and tangled in a cord dangling from an exercise treadmill, who alerted her mother, Monica Turner. She had stopped breathing by the time her brother Miguel, seven, stumbled upon the tragic scene and alerted their mother Monica Turner, Monica attempted
CPR before the child was taken to hospital. Exodus was listed in “extremely critical condition” and was on life support at Phoenix’s St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center. The following day on May 26, 2009 at 11:45 AM (1845 GMT) she died of her injuries.

It is believed Monica was cleaning in another part of the home when the accident happened. Authorities believe Exodus had either put her head inside the cable or slipped and become entangled in the cord. "It acted like a noose and she was obviously unable to get herself out of it. We don't know how long she was hanging, but it could have been a couple of minutes."

Tyson - who has been jailed for rape and drug offenses and banned from boxing for biting off part of opponent Evander Holyfield's ear - recently claimed he had turned his life around so he could spend more time with his seven children.

He added: "I've been sober for two-and-a-half years and I'm working hard to keep out of trouble. If there's a transformation it's because of my children. I want to be a proper father."

Mike Tyson’s Personal_life: Tyson has been legally married twice and has had six children with several different women. His first marriage was to actress Robin Givens from February 7, 1988 to February 14, 1989. Givens was known for her work on the sitcom Head of the Class. Tyson’s marriage to Givens was especially tumultuous with allegations of violence, spousal abuse and mental instability on Tyson’s part and allegations of gold digging against Givens. Matters came to a head when Tyson and Givens gave a joint interview with Barbara Walters on the ABC TV newsmagazine show 20/20 in September 1988, in which Givens described life with Tyson as “torture, pure hell, worse than anything I could possibly imagine.” Givens also described Tyson as “manic depressive” on national television while Tyson looked on with an intent and calm expression.A month later, Givens announced that she was seeking a divorce from the allegedly abusive Tyson. They had no children but she claims to have had a miscarriage while Tyson claims she was never pregnant and only used that to get him to marry her.

His second marriage was to Monica Turner from April 19, 1997 – January 14, 2003. At the time of the divorce filing, Turner worked as a pediatric resident at Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington DC. She is also the sister of Michael Steele, the former Lieutenant Governor of Maryland and current Republican National Committee Chairman. Turner filed for divorce from Tyson in January 2002, claiming that he committed adultery during their five-year marriage, an act that “has neither been forgiven nor condoned.” Mike split from Monica, his second wife, in 2003 after six years of marriage. The couple had two children: Rayna (born February 14, 1996) and Amir (August 5, 1997). Tyson has a total of six children, including Mikey Lorna (1990)and Miguel Leon (2002).
