How to be successful in Bank PO examination

success in Bank PO examPO(Probationary Officer) is the most important positions in the bank. That's why all youth strive to achieve the post. Examination Format : For Probationary Office(po) post written test will be held under which objective type of questions were asked. The wide variety of question comprise Reasoning, Quantitative aptitude, General Awareness / Computer Knowledge and English Language. For wrong answers some penalty (negative marking) is also there. Candidates which will be successful in written examination, will be called to interview.

Academic Qualifications : To apply for PO you must be a graduate from a recognized university or institution with minimum of 55 to 60 percent marks (changes with requirement of bank) in concerned degree. If you are CA, CS, ICW, PGDM with 55-60 percentage or pass you will benefited. With that basic knowledge of computers is also required.

Age range : For PO positions the age range for General candidates is set 21 to 30 years . Under state rules relaxation in maximum age limit is provided for students coming from reservation category.

How to prepare for Written Examination : Time is crucial for bank exam preparation. So you set the time, and tray to practice plenty of questions in range. Such a practice can work only when you have information of examination patterns and variety of question asked in examination. For this study the type of question that were asked in old examination. To be strong in English grammar and try to solve previous year question papers with that you will find an intuitive idea that in which area of English you are weak and you need to strengthen.

It Often seen that one student have good catch on one subject and the other subject is relatively weak. So it's requires that prepare that subject first which is weaker. Give more time to relatively weaker subjects than other subjects and try to improve it. It's also necessary because there is Sectional Cutt-off, means you have to qualify in each subject separately. Means if you do better in one subject and not able to bring the minimum qualifying marks in other concerning subjects, you can not succeed the written test. So the best way is you sure to set a time for all, and prepare accordingly.

The test have penalty for wrong answers so answer those questions, you covered well. If you are around seniors or teacher, you can take valuable advice too him. If you are adopting such a strategy, your chances to be successful in written test will increases.

How to prepare for Interview: If you are successful in the written test, you will be invited for interview. In this regard, experts say that" to be successful in any interview, you must be Confident. A Common mistakes that student do is, they starts speaking as they got questions it, without paying attention on questions that what interviewer liked to ask. So they can not answer it to-the-Point, and consequently they find only failure in their hand. The simplest way to avoid that you must prepared that you will not answer some sort of questions without understanding it well. By adopting such a strategy will not make a mistake in this area.

In addition,Note on the events occurred in India and abroad. You should also have the knowledge of banking and economic terminology, as well as about the persons on highest designation of states and countries, as it's are most common question that generally asked at the time of Interview. If you are successful there, you will be the most qualified candidate for the post.

Vacancy Update: Syndicate Bank recently invited applications for the of position probationary officer.The deadline for filling online application is 7 july 2010 and the date of written test is August 29, 2010. Total number of posts is 1000. Syndicate Bank wants to be in the drink, you can apply by July 7.

  1. Do not underestimate any section, you have to clear each and every. The time which I used to give on different section and the order of attempting papers was 10-15 minutes for General Knowledge paper, 20 minutes for English, 35-40 minutes on Math and 60 minutes on Reasoning. In normal course I used to score above 85% in both GK and Math papers and above 70% in reasoning paper. Although in last few exams I scored as high as 90% in reasoning paper but that was after lot of practice and experience, although that much score is not required as you told, anything above or near 70% should do. Please also remember if you have done well in written part, interview will be a cakewalk for you.

  2. Hello friends, I recently passed canara bank po exam and got selected.so i would like to share some tips so it may benefit oyhers-
    a. in written exam attempt papers like reasoning and maths first.
    b. dont waste time in solving non verbal reasoning problems.
    c. graphs, pie charts,bar charts problems are easier to solve in quantative aptitude.
    d. monthlly magazines like 'banking service chronicle' are beneficial for current affairs.
